Black Holes
In the study of the night sky, each star is a marker. Each one is a dot and humanity constantly plays a game with the sky of connect the dots. The study in Black Holes is a study of the inversion of light. Points are selected in the field at random. Lines of different colors are then projected out by hand from the points in all directions, and a colored spiral of 'negative light' grows out from each point. It is a slightly ergonomic exercise in that the limits of my own reach and arms length govern the straightness of the line and the size of the spiral. What evolves is a field of black holes; points where all the colors of the spectrum converge to form optically black nodes. They radiate color and like the night sky read like an old cryptic map.
