Landscapes Worlds and Monuments
Over time I have developed a kit of parts for drawing. What I try to sometimes do is invent a world with them and let them grow an interact according to their own rules of behavior. Sometimes these things well up into monuments. They take on the architectural nature of massive, singular constructions that stand up and project some intangible energy. Other times they become something of a landscape. They roll around and find a distance or a depth in the picture plane, where little "Memes" can inhabit them like an alien world. I say these things to describe them but I don't really know why they are this way. Because the process is so organic, and no set form is decided on at the outset, each work takes its own path and grows into whatever it wants to be. So a lot is happening by intuition and I don't really have access to the knowledge of why things are the way they are. I can only describe them after the fact.
